We're Ed & Victoria, founding members of the now defunct ABCLV (American Bulldog Club of Las Vegas).  After spending 5 years on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, and then the last 1 1/2 years back in Las Vegas, we've made our way to the big island of Hawaii.  I think we've finally found a place to call home.  If you'd like to contact us, Victoria's email address is still reinaday@aol.com, and mine is outbackk1@aol.com.

SOME HEALTH PROBLEMS;  Among other health issues, American Bulldogs are prone to hip dysplasia, and can be genetically affected by NCL, and Ichthyosis.  Hip dysplasia can be minimized by breeding dogs that have passed a hip certification through OFA or the University of Pennsylvania's PennHip evaluations.  NCL and Ichthyosis are both genetic disorders that now, thanks to the University of Missouri and the University of Pennsylvania, can be tested for, and affected or genetic carriers of the diseases can be eliminated from breeding.  In identifying the genes that cause these diseases, these universities have gone through considerable effort, time and expense to give breeders the tools to be able to produce and sell healthy, quality puppies.  The least anyone breeding a litter of dogs should do, is to make use of these invaluable tools to insure the health and soundness of American Bulldogs for continuing generations.
